Short bio

David Pardo earned his Doctorate in Computational and Applied Mathematics in May 2004, from the University of Texas at Austin. He served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Computational Sciences and Engineering (ICES) and a Research Associate in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the same University. He is currently a Research Professor at Ikerbasque, the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), and the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM). He is an expert in numerical methods for partial differential equations that mathematically model natural and artificial phenomena. Since 2018 he has specialized in Deep Learning algorithms for solving partial differential equations and inverse problems, in particular for the interpretation of real-time experimental measurements in problems of interest to industry. He has published over 150 research articles and he has given over 260 presentations. He is currently the PI of three European Projects: MSCA DN IN-DEEP, MSCA IF GEODPG, and MSCA IF GEOLEARN. He has ample experience working with companies in transfer of mathematical technology.
